The girls Are and Storm In a Teacup are joining forces to host the inaugural London show for Brooklyn 4-piece The Shondes.
After years of requests, demands, begs, pleads, and countless counts of bribery, Brooklyn favourites The Shondes are finally embarking on a 6 week European tour, kicking off on 15th September in Berlin. The band land in London on Sunday 21st October to play The Lexington, alongside support from punk trio Throwing Up, and pop-ska outfit The Tuts.
The Shondes’ signature sound – defined by powerful female lead vocals (Louisa Solomon), exuberant rock violin (Elijah Oberman), and infectious pop energy, and described by Entertainment Weekly as “giddy garage melodics with [a] Sleater-Kinney twist” – already has a place in the hearts of their European fans. The band is looking forward to bringing their explosive and impassioned live show to those fans who haven’t had the chance to see it before.
As part of the week leading up to the band’s tour sendoff, the much-anticipated music video for Close the Door (the final single and music video off of Searchlights) will be released on September 10, 2012.
